Configure Ethernet Gateway

The PDDEG-S/PDTS connects the PDZG-E to the rest of the Dynalite system, routing commands and messages as needed.

Refer to the following procedures in Ethernet Gateways:

Bridge Configuration Wizard Step 1 - Static IP vs. DHCP

The gateway commissioning procedure linked above uses a static IP address for the PDDEG-S, which should be provided by the site’s network administrator to avoid conflicts with other devices.

If the network uses dynamic DHCP addressing, ensure that the PDDEG-S/PDTS has a permanently reserved IP address on the DHCP server. The PDZG-E needs to know this address, and will lose comms if it changes.

Bridge Configuration Wizard Step 2 & 3 - Additional Features

The following features are optional and can be selected if required before proceeding:

  • Enable UDP Broadcast Discovery
Should be disabled for security unless required for legacy end user apps to discover gateways.

  • Enable WebSocket
Adds additional ports and routing for the gateway.

  • Enable RS-485 Spur for Hybrid / Dynalite
Only required if the PDDEG-S is also connected to an RS-485 DyNet bus on sb icon port comm Comm Port 1.
Adds routing for messages between serial DyNet devices and all sb icon port ipv4 TCP ports.

  • Cloud Gateway / BACnet Gateway
You do not need to set up the Ethernet gateway as a cloud gateway for wireless commissioning. System Builder only requires Dynalite Cloud to retrieve device information from the Enabler app.
