Dynalite UIs consist of an application module driven by Dynalite’s universal DACM communication module, which acts as the brain and network interface. The DACM can be programmed, installed, wired, and tested without the application module attached. This allows the commissioning process to begin before or during construction, protecting the application module from damage until the site is ready for occupancy.

Each UI button can be programmed to perform a variety of functions, ranging from basic lighting adjustment to complex preprogrammed tasks.

Inputs and outputs

Dynalite UIs include the following physical inputs and outputs:

Interface Device Description

Touch

Revolution
AntumbraButton
AntumbraDisplay

Mechanical buttons

AntumbraTouch

Capacitive glass facia

Sensors

All

Proximity — This sensor uses time-of-flight (Revolution Display) or field effect technology (others) to detect motion. When a user approaches the device, it initiates a wall-wash (Antumbra) or button LED (Revolution) lighting effect to encourage interaction.

Temperature — The temperature sensor measures the temperature (in °C or °F) where the device is mounted. The AntumbraDisplay can show this value on its screen, and all UIs can communicate the temperature to other devices on the network.

Revolution

Humidity — Accurately reports relative humidity levels as a percentage. The value can be displayed on the standby screen and communicated to other devices.

Antumbra

Ambient light — An internal light sensor measures ambient light and adjusts light wash effect accordingly.

RS-485

DACM

Supports standard DyNet protocols.

Power

DACM

12-24 VDC (SELV/CLASS 2) — DyNet or standalone PSU.

No physical ports are exposed when mounted. To access the DACM RS-485 port, the device must be removed from the wall.
Cleaning Recommendations

Dynalite user interfaces and sensors should only be cleaned with a damp soft cloth. The cloth can be dipped in warm water with a small amount of liquid dishwashing detergent or diluted disinfectant or bleach (<1000 ppm), then wrung dry before use.

Do not spray or allow moisture ingress into the device. Moisture can cause damage to electronics and affect the longevity and operation of the device. Moisture ingress is not covered by warranty.

Do not use stainless steel or glass cleaning products. User interface and sensor devices are made of genuine metallic, glass, and/or plastic materials. Chemicals designed to clean stainless steel or glass may affect the performance of the plastic over time.

Do not use abrasive or concentrated alkaline cleaners (such as caustic soda, ammonia, or undiluted bleach) on user interfaces or sensors, as this may result in the plastic parts cracking and failing prematurely.

Do not use chemical solvents (such as benzene, gasoline, acetone, thinners, alcohol, or tetrachlorides) on user interfaces or sensors as this may cause plastic parts to crack or fail prematurely.

Check for compatibility. Specific chemical cleaners should be tested for compatibility before active use.
