Area Configuration

Create separate areas for each fan or motorised window covering (curtain/blind) that you want to control separately. Control is handled at the area level. Fans or window coverings in the same area will all respond together to the same commands.

In Areas view, set each area’s Area Properties > Category Properties > Category as needed (Lighting, HVAC, etc.)

Floor plans and areas can be optionally grouped into folders, nested up to three levels deep. Set each floor folder’s Folder Properties > Category to Plan, and area group folders to Group.

Areas View - Folder Category selection

The following example folder hierarchies are all supported by the app:

  • Floor → Area Group 1 → Area Group 2 → Area

  • Floor → Area Group 1 → Area

  • Floor → Area

  • Area Group 1 → Area Group 2 → Area

  • Area Group 1 → Area

  • Area

These structures can be mixed within a single job file as needed - one floor may contain nested folders, another may contain only areas, and some areas or folders may exist outside any floor.

  • Any folders more than three levels down are ignored by the app.

  • Join masks and base link areas are initially ignored by the app, but will become visible after polling the native areas and channels.

Example: Bedroom with lights, fan, curtain, and HVAC

Create a folder named Bedroom and set the Folder Properties > Category to Group.

In this folder, create separate areas for Lighting, Fan, Curtain, and HVAC.

An HVAC area placed by itself or under a folder containing subfolders will appear as a button, navigating the user to a dedicated climate control screen.

If placed under a folder that includes other areas for lighting, curtain, fan, etc., it will be visualised together on the detail screen.

Empty/hidden/unassigned folders and system areas are automatically ignored.
