DDNG-KNX

The DDNG-KNX integrates KNX systems into your Dynalite project, dynamically translating and mapping control commands between the DyNet and KNX protocols.

Common use cases include enabling building management systems (BMS) to directly trigger tasks or timed events, monitoring and reporting KNX device statuses, and explanding the capabilities of KNX systems with more sophisticated lighting scenes and energy management controls.

Commissioning Software

The DDNG-KNX is fully commissioned in System Builder and does not require an Engineering Tool Software (ETS) database file. The KNX devices are commissioned separately using the manufacturer’s ETS app.

The following information is required to configure the DDNG-KNX:

  • The individual address of the DDNG-KNX device

  • The group address list and properties in the mapping table

Gateway Status Indicators

The DDNG-KNX has the following physical controls and indicators:

DyNet

  • DyNet service switch - Sends a sign-on message onto the DyNet network.

  • DyNet service LED

    • Heartbeat - Normal operation

    • Blinks faster - Network traffic

    • Permanently on - Fault condition
KNX

  • KNX programming switch - Puts the device into KNX programming mode. It does not send any KNX telegrams.

  • KNX programming LED

    • On - Programming mode

    • Off - Normal operation

    • Blinking - Fault condition
You do NOT need to put the DDNG-KNX into KNX programming mode when performing configuration in System Builder.
