Dynalite Switch App

This topic covers requirements and considerations when commissioning a project for Switch app users.

Please read the following carefully to ensure full compatibility with the app.

Project Prerequisites

Dynalite Cloud is essential for storing and configuring the project jobfile, and for adding app users.

The project requires a Remote control license and cloud gateway (e.g. PDDEG-S/PDTS) to enable app control from outside the local WiFi network.

Cloud Synchronisation

Changes made by the end user are synchronised back to the cloud to become applicable for other users as well (e.g. project and scene name changes).

App-specific settings (icon changes, macros, favourites, local IP/port, etc.) go to the metadata API and do not impact the SB jobfile.

The most recent configuration synchronised takes precedence. If user A and B both open the job and make conflicting changes, the last saved change will take precedence.

User Access

The Switch app is not suitable for multi-tenant, single meeting room, or hotel/guestroom use. All app users have full control across the entire project.

Backward Compatibility (EnvisionTouch/Dynalite Control App)

The commissioning rules and project structure guidelines in this section are intended to accommodate Switch app control in new projects.

For pre-existing projects that wish to continue using EnvisionTouch and/or Dynalite Control alongside Dynalite Switch, changes made to accommodate the Switch app must be uploaded to the Ethernet gateway web server to ensure that the legacy apps keep functioning correctly.

When significantly altering an existing project, make regular job file backups and take care to ensure that system functionality is preserved after making any changes.
