Web Interface

The PDEG and PDDEG-S have an inbuilt web server that provides an interface to the system with system status monitoring, lighting control, activity scheduling, schedule editing, and language selection.

Configuration

Enable gateway web interface:
  1. Configure the EG as an Ethernet Access Point with the sb icon bridge wizard Bridge Configuration Wizard. Ensure that the EG has a fixed or permanently assigned IP address.

  2. In Device Properties configure the following:

    • Ethernet Applications > Web server = Enabled

    • Ethernet Applications > Authentication required for = CGI Only

  3. (Skip if you have already added users)
In Users, add a Username and Password. Note these for later.

  4. Click sb icon save to device Save to Device ( F12 ).

  5. In the System View device tree, right-click the EG and select Gateway Actions > sb icon upload custom web pages Upload Custom Web Pages… and follow the prompts.

The default web pages are available from each EG’s product page at https://support.dynalite.com/
  6. Right-click the EG again and select Gateway Actions > sb icon upload configuration Upload Configuration > Upload Logical Configuration… to save the job’s PROJECT.XML file to the device.

  7. Click sb icon send device reset Send Device Reset ( F5 ) to reboot the device.

Access the Web Interface

To access the interface after fully configuring the EG, enter the EG’s IP address into your browser (ensure that the computer is on the same subnet as the EG). Enter your username and password to log in.

  • Screenshots in this section are indicative only, as web interface features may change between configurations and versions.

  • For HTTPS connections, you must first upload a TLS certificate from SB to the EG (refer to Commissioning > Ethernet Access Point > HTTPS Secure Access)

  • For a self-signed certificate, you need to accept the certificate in the browser the first time you connect to the EG. This effectively pins the browser on the device to the EG. All subsequent requests are then trusted by the browser. This is an issue for all devices that connect to a service on a field device (like the PDDEG-S or PDEG) as browsers do not trust certificates that are self-signed or from a private certificate chain.

The home page provides a snapshot of the system, showing today’s schedules and upcoming events as well as the total number of schedules, special events, public holidays, devices, and areas in the system.
