Ethernet Gateway Commissioning

To make full use of this section, you should have a working knowledge of System Builder, IP addressing, Connected Lighting, and general Dynalite commissioning processes.

Introduction

The PDEB, PDEG, PDDEG-S, and PDTS v2 touchscreen are hardware EGs designed to link network segments together via the internet or a local area network (LAN). They provide a multipurpose Ethernet connection for connected lighting control systems, enabling bridging functionality between an Ethernet trunk and a DyNet RS-485 spur or between an Ethernet trunk and an Ethernet Spur (PoE or wireless subnet). The PDDEG-S also provides a secure connection to the cloud and to other Ethernet enabled devices.

The flexibility of each Ethernet Gateway (EG) extends the control system over existing Ethernet networks to communication with third party systems or where segments of the control system are separated by great distances. It enables remote control of sites and offers monitor and manage capabilities similar to System Manager. They support IPv4 and IPv6 protocols, with static or DHCP assigned IP addressing, inbuilt routing and message filters to link multiple EG’s together in a system.

An inbuilt web server offers a simple end-user interface for different browser-based control scenarios, where the full System Manager suite is not required. The interface incorporates a timeclock, schedule editor and a task engine that can process conditional and sequential logic and arithmetic functions.

Wi-Fi access to an EG facilitates personal control from mobile applications or for wireless commissioning.
