Registering your Cloud Gateway
For the DCP to provide remote connectivity to a site, a PDDEG-S registered as a cloud gateway in System Builder, is required on-site.
Before registering the gateway, you need to set the job and gateway location and time zone. These may not be the same.

For the job file, Select Tools > Set Location and Timezone.

For the gateway, right-click the device and select Set Location and Timezone.
To register an online gateway, SB must be logged into an Interact account and the gateway must have internet access. |
The cloud gateway uses the MQTT protocol to establish a secure TCP connection to the cloud service using factory credentials. The cloud LED indicator on the front of the PDDEG-S flashes to show when it is trying to connect to the cloud. Once you assign it to a project and register the gateway, the LED permanently stays on. The PDDEG-S v2 (one Ethernet port) cloud LED is white and the PDDEG-S v3 (two Ethernet ports) cloud LED is green.
SB displays one of the following icons next to the registered cloud gateway:

Online gateway registered and job opened from the cloud.

Online gateway registered and job opened from local network.

Open the job in System Builder.

Select the PDDEG-S that will be used as the cloud gateway.

Right-click the PDDEG-S and select Register Cloud Gateway. The gateway identity details are shown.
The MAC should be formatted as six sets of two hexadecimal characters, separated by colons. If the MAC Address field is blank:

Press Cancel.

Right-click the PDDEG-S and select Request Device Information.

Restart this procedure.

Click the
button. SB registers the gateway in the DCP. -
SB prompts you to create a new online job file.

Select your Organization from the dropdown list and enter the Job File > Name and Description.

Click the
button to upload the job to the cloud.
