Multiroom System Manager API

The Multiroom System Manager API enables clients to monitor and control the lighting status of areas and channels within a Dynalite lighting control system, as well as view and modify schedules, via the Data Access server. the Multiroom API consists of four components:

  • Control - Get site, building, and room information. Control guestroom services including room status requests, guest language, HVAC, wake-up alarms, lighting, and motorised blinds/curtains.

  • Events - Get a real-time feed of updates to guestroom statuses and services such as occupancy, HVAC settings, environmental conditions, and more.

  • Alerts - Get a real-time feed of room and system alerts triggered by faults, exceeded thresholds, or a combination of system events that may require staff attention.

  • History - Extract historical energy, environmental, and room status data for selected guestrooms, floors, or buildings.

API access requires a correctly configured Multiroom System Manager server on the network.

Server URL

Local server domains are configured during installation. API access will use a base URL such as https://api.myhotel.com/integration/api/v1/…

API Concepts

Rooms

A room represents a guestroom, suite, or public space, and is a physically unique space within a venue.

Any attribute addressed at the room level will be applied to the full space, no matter how many sub-rooms or zones there may be in a large suite.

Attributes include check-in/check-out status, occupancy, room temperature, wake-up alarms, and guest requests such as Do Not Disturb, Make Up Room, and Pick Up Laundry.

Zones

Zones represent areas or sub-rooms within a guestroom or suite. For standard room types, a single zone typically represents the entire space. For suites and larger rooms, separate zones typically represent different physical spaces such as lounge, bedroom, and other areas.

Zones act as containers for the controllable services and readable sensor data located within them.

Services

Services are the controllable elements within a zone. For example, a typical bedroom might offer lighting, HVAC, and motorised curtains.

Scenes

Scenes are predefined groups and configurations of lights. For example, a Bright scene might set all lights in a zone to full brightness, while a Relax scene might dim some lights while turning off or ignoring others.

Luminaire light level and color temperature

In addition to zone-wide lighting scenes, you can directly control the light intensity and correlated color temperature (CCT) of individual luminaires.

DyNet connections

The DyNet protocol connects System Manager, via the floor gateways, to each room’s control system.

FIAS connections

The FIAS protocol connects System Manager to the Building/Property Management System (BMS/PMS).

WebSocket

System Manager uses a secure WebSocket feed to report all control system events in real time, and to generate alerts when certain room or system parameters breach preconfigured thresholds.

Permissions to view specific event and alert types are configured for each integration account when the account is created in the Hospitality Dashboard.
