Connecting SB to the DDNG485
If starting with SB and the DDNG485 already connected to a existing DyNet network via serial (PC Node) or TCP/IP (see Ethernet Gateways), you can skip the first two steps below. |
-
Plug the commissioning PC into a PC Node and then plug the PC node into one of the two RS-485 ports on the DDNG485.
-
Select Use machine connection settings or Use job specific connection settings and connect SB to the RS-485 network using a serial connection.
SB and the DDNG485 must be set to the same baud rate (default: 9600) to connect successfully. |
-
Add the gateway to your project using one of the following methods:
-
Insert Device from List for pre-commissioning. You can create and configure the gateway settings using this method before connecting SB to the device.
-
Insert Devices from Network and then search for device code 0xC4 or use the gateway’s service switch to send a sign-on message to the network.
-
When connecting SB to the trunk network (Port 2) ensure you select the top of the device tree before connecting. This enables you to see messages with spur offset addresses, such as Area 1003.
When connecting SB to the spur network (Port 1) ensure you select the gateway in the device tree before connecting. This enables you to see messages without spur offset addresses, such as Area 3.
