DALI Device Addressing
Adding a DALI Address to a Device
DALI devices have a DALI address instead of a box number. To successfully configure a DALI device, it must first be enumerated to give it an address. This adds the discovered device to the job underneath the DALI controller.
If offline (precommissioned) DALI devices were added to the job, then after enumeration, these need to be given a DALI address by assigning an enumerated device in the DALI Network editor.
-
In the DALI Network editor, select a discovered device with the required address.
-
Click the Assign to Device button.
-
Either:
-
Select a device in the job from the dropdown list.
Or:
-
Drag and drop the device icon from the DALI Network editor onto an existing device underneath the DALI-2 controller icon in the System tree.
-
You must save device data for DALI address assignments to take effect. |
Removing a DALI Address from a Device
The DALI address should be removed when the device using the address is no longer installed on the DALI network. After saving to the controller, this removes the device from System Builder and from the controller’s memory.
This may be required when replacing a DALI device and the controller output already contains the maximum number of DALI devices.
-
In the DALI Network editor, select the device with the required address.
-
Click Remove from Network.
-
Click Save to Device (F12).
